Muslim Counsellor / Psychotherapist

A Muslim counsellor / Psychotherapist will respect and recognise religion and cultural norms. They will provide Therapeutic interventions, working towards empowerment, increase  self esteem and confidence where the client should be able to make positive life choices. They will provide a safe environment where clients can discuss their feeling and experiences on a one to one basis.

There are many approaches to counselling and you should find a therapist that has more than approach such as being integrative.

They should be registered with a governing body and it’s worthwhile asking which one, this ensures they are fully trained and qualified.

Ask some one who they recommend, you can also take a look at Islamic counselling which provides a Muslim counselling directory of organisations and agencies that work with the Muslim community.
